Continuing Interest

The continuing interest process is co-ordinated by the Local Authority and your child will automatically be placed on the continuing interest list for all unmet higher preference schools.  A letter and "Pupil Audit Report" has been sent to you explaining how our admissions rules were applied to your application and giving your child's position on the continuing interest (CI) list for each relevant criterion.  Unless you decide to opt out, your child will remain on the CI list at Parmiter's School until the second Friday of the Autumn Term of Year 7, which is 12 September 2014.  If you wish your child to remain on the CI list after this date, you should make an "In Year" application in September.

The deadline for accepting school places and for opting out of the continuing interest list is 17 March 2014.  Further information on this and on the appeals procedure can be viewed on the Local Authority website:

School Admissions Policy for Secondary Transfer 2014:

Secondary Transfer to Year 7 in September 2015

The Open Day will take place on Wednesday 1 October 2014 from 4pm to 8.30pm.  The school will also be open for visits during late September/October.  Further details will be advertised nearer the time and places will be available to book via the School Office.  Please note that we are not able to arrange tours of the school at any other time during the school year.

Children who are currently in Year 5 will be able to apply for a secondary school place from September 2014.  Parents who think that they may apply to Parmiter's School under the Academic and/or the Music criterion will need to register for the SW Herts consortium tests.  The tests will take place in September and the dates will be published on the website as soon as they are available.  The SW Herts Consortium website and online registration will be available from mid-May to mid-June 2014.  We will post a link on this website as soon as the test registration is available.  Please note that the test registration is not an application for a school place.

The results of the tests will be notified to parents in October before the Secondary Transfer deadline of 31 October 2014.

An application must also be made to the Local Authority for the area in which the applicant resides at the time of application.

Parents may be interested in the following statistical information regarding cut-off scores and distances for previous years.  Please note that there is no "pass mark" or "minimum distance" that must be achieved to gain a place.  Each year is different and the cut-off scores for 2014 entry will not be known until after allocation day on 3 March 2014.
