A Level Sociology Trip to the Museum of Liverpool

As part of the A Level Sociology course, our Year 12 students visited the Museum of Liverpool on Thursday 5 July 2025.

They took part in a session that looked at the legacies of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, its impact on today’s society and recognised some of the key achievements of a variety of African cultures and societies prior to the arrival of Europeans to the continent.  The students then went on a tour beneath the city to the site of the historic Old Dock.  The final afternoon session at the museum, which complements the work they are doing on the compulsory Crime & Deviance topic, explored weapons, knife crime, laws and smuggling, as well as consequences, myths and misinformation.
