Second in Charge of PE with a responsibility for Girls PE & Sport 

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher and to join our exceptional PE department.  You will lead our provision for Girls Sport, as well as working closely with our Director of Sport as second in department, to lead our curriculum and extra-curricular provision.  

In this key leadership role you will ensure our students experience a broad and engaging curriculum that fosters a lifelong passion for physical activity and exercise.  You will be committed to a wide-ranging extracurricular provision that is inclusive but also allows students to participate at their competitive level. GCSE and A Level PE are both popular with our students and you will be a strong classroom practitioner as well as a skilled sportsperson.  As well as joining a talented and committed department, you will teach in outstanding facilities that support teaching and learning.

Teacher of Geography 

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Geography specialist to join our successful department.   You will have a passion for your subject and the skills to engage students across the age and ability range.  Students benefit from a wide range of subject related enrichment and extracurricular opportunities offered by the department.

Geography is one of the most popular GCSE choices with outstanding results. Students favour the subject at A level with students consistently achieving excellent outcomes and many going on to study the specialism at university.  For those suitably qualified or experienced, there will be an opportunity to teach A Level.

Teacher of Computer Science 

Computer Science is thriving at Parmiter’s and this is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join the department. You will have a passion for your subject and the skills to engage students across the age and ability range. 

Students benefit from dedicated curriculum time in all year groups and a strong team of specialist teachers with a passion for Computer Science.  We have an ever increasing demand at GCSE and A level and our students consistently achieve excellent outcomes with many going on to study the subject at university. Teacher of Design & Technology 

An exciting opportunity for a Product Design and/or Resistant Materials specialist to join our Design & Technology team.  You will have a passion for your subject and the skills to engage and motivate students across the age and ability range. 

At Key Stage 3, students experience a range of specialisms through a rotation based curriculum.  Students achieve highly at GCSE and the school is committed to further growing our A Level D&T provision. We are seeking a teacher who can bring their expertise in Product Design and/or Resistant Materials to the A Level course. A willingness to teach other subjects within the rotation (Graphics, Food or Textiles) would be advantageous. 

As part of the Art & Design faculty, the Design & Technology team is playing a key role in the school’s journey to achieving the Artsmark Award, a valuable platform for promoting the subject within the school and to the wider community.

Science Technician 

This is an excellent opportunity to join our successful Science Faculty. The ideal candidate will have a Science qualification at A Level or above and an interest in Science. Previous experience of working in this role would be advantageous but is not essential as full training can be provided. Strong communication and organisational skills are key to this position.  

The Science Technicians are an integral part of the faculty providing valuable support to the Biology, Chemistry and Physics teaching staff. The Science block is a brand new, purpose built building with 12 high specification teaching laboratories and bespoke preparation rooms on each of its 3 floors.

Sports Centre Weekend Supervisor 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work with our Sports Centre Manager in overseeing the operation of the Thomas Parmiter Sports Centre and staff team at the weekend. 

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the enthusiasm to provide an excellent customer experience for all stakeholders. You will have good organisational skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead, inspire and manage a small team.  

Some physical effort will be required in terms of lifting and moving sports equipment. The role includes working outside on the sports pitches in all weather conditions. Experience of working within a sports facility and knowledge of sports would be beneficial but is not essential. The working pattern is between 08.00 - 18.30 on Saturday and Sunday, 20 hours per week.

The Sports Centre is an integral part of the school and local community life with exciting plans for future development. Our sports facilities comprise extensive grass pitches, a newly refurbished 3G football turf pitch, a large sports hall, gymnasium, fitness suite, dance studio and floodlit tennis/netball courts. Additional lettings space includes a conference centre, school hall and teaching areas.
