Acting Head of Geography

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious, dynamic and skilled teacher of Geography to lead our successful and thriving department. Geography is very popular at GCSE and A level and achieves excellent results. The department is well-resourced and students benefit from a significant number of field trips and excursions at all levels of the school.

The successful candidate will be offered a permanent Teacher of Geography contract and a maternity contract to lead the department. This is an ideal opportunity to gain leadership experience and expertise.  Following the return of the current Head of Geography, the school will discuss available leadership roles across the school that are commensurate with the TLR. School Direct (salaried & unsalaried) Teacher Training Programme

The Herts and Bucks Teaching School Alliance are inviting applications for the School Direct teacher training programme starting in September 2020. Please apply through UCAS, (placements are listed under Parmiter's School). Further information available here

Salaried and unsalaried placements will be available at Parmiter's School as well as other secondary and primary schools in the alliance. 

Places are offered in a range of subjects including -

Art & Design, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design and Technology, Drama,English, Economics, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern Foreign Languages, Music, Physical Education, Physics and Religious Studies.

Primary General placements (salaried and unsalaried) are available in primary schools and special schools.

We encourage prospective trainees to submit an early application/expression of interest as national recruitment quotas apply to some subjects, and, to allow enough time to organise lesson observations prior to application. Applications will close in June 2020 (however recruitment for some subjects may close before then).
